What Is Divorce Financial Mediation?

Spouses who choose divorce financial mediation meet with our experienced divorce “Financial Neutral” who focuses on the financial aspects of your divorce. Acting as a neutral third-party, our mediator helps both spouses resolve property division and other related issues. Mediation’s goal is for you and your spouse to come to an agreement that can be incorporated into your final settlement documentation. Unlike a judge, the mediator does not make decisions for you. Instead, the mediator helps you explore alternatives. The aim is for you and your spouse to reach solutions tailored to the specific needs and objectives of you and your family.

What If Mediation Fails?

If an agreement can’t be reached, you can always choose to litigate. However, the mediation process you have already gone through remains confidential. Your mediator cannot be called to testify in court if you choose to litigate after having tried mediation. You will be able to use the financial reports generated during mediation if you choose to litigate.
